Hi! My name is Ben, and I’m a photographer. I like to travel both abroad and nearby. I shoot film cameras, digital cameras, and cinema cameras, and I like to talk about all of it.

About Photos and Talkies
I’ve been shooting photos, writing articles, and making videos since the dawn of time (citation needed). I even made a 90-minute documentary when I was working for the U.S. Army. It’s boring; you don’t want to watch it. But I love photography; it is art, it is documentary, it is science.
Traveling to and experiencing different cities, cultures, and climates is one of the answers to our biggest social problems, but it can also be a big ecological issue. On the one hand, exposure to other peoples and ideologies gives us a broader perspective; travelers face their own biases and cultural prejudices while learning to respect and value others. On the other hand, overtourism causes ecological damage in fragile areas, can disrupt local economies, and cause loss of stock for small-town groceries.
What’s the solution? Travel responsibly. Check out local spots and lesser-known places. Park on pavement or gravel. Stay on trails. Leave no trace. And get out, go see things. Experience new cultures, even if they’re one valley over.
